SPRING The weather is slowly warming up once again. Plants and flowers and beginning to spring up and brightening the landscape again. While most days are quite plesant, storms are certain to pass by from time to time.

With the activity check closed, boards will be cleaned up and hopefully we can get some activity going here again! Some tension between the angelics and possessed is still brewing, and if you'd like to be a part of that, be sure to check out the plotting board where you can find the thread on that. Let's try to get some more activity going everyone! Also, the items for characters idea is still being worked on by staff. - Tigress
More or less alone, Babylon let his thoughts pull over to her. They'd been apart for so long he doubted her to remember him. Which, maybe that wasn't true, it had only been a few weeks....But what was days were weeks. What was weeks were months, years, decades even, because time was so...
Babylon knew now that life as a bachelor was a scratch to the surface of loving someone and not being with them. It was anguish and pain. It was death. He looked up at the stars, bursts of smoke seeping from his barely parted lips as he took slow, shallow breaths. Maybe the astrology that was nestled in the sky could tell him where she was. He had heard that one could predict the future from them, after all. How hard could it be?
Normally, she was terrified at night. Usually she would find a group of equines - or perhaps a copse of trees surrounded by plains, if nothing else - and hide there for the night, barely moving as she waited for the monsters. Not tonight though. Tonight, she was decidedly restless, unable to cease her searching even in the darkness that scared her so.
She'd been following the creek for a while now - she was't quite sure how long. All she knew was that she was a mere shadow in the dark now, a vague shape lit by moonlight, and that anyone she had passed had heard her quite clearly, stumbling around in the darkness like an utter fool. Several times now, she had jumped sideways at the noises of the night and sent stones clattering down the steep incline that led into the busy stream below. Just like the fool she was.
Just as she thought of these things, her hoof caught on a large stone, easily tripping her up and giving her the fright of her life at the same time. The dark bay skittered sideways, the same leg landing in one of the many potholes that littered the sides of the creek this far along with a sudden flame of pain. For a good moment, she froze, leg half lifted out of the hole she had unwittingly stumbled into, trying to shake off the fear that had filled her so fully about the stupidest of things. When finally she set her foot on level ground, pain shot through her fetlock, making her pull the weight off it immediately. Lame, then. Lame, and lost in the dark.
For a good while, she simply stood there, not sure what to do and feeling very, very alone surrounded by the dark night. Her breath rose as a cloud of steam, warmth escaping her body to join the cold night air and rise up towards the stars. Stars that were bright tonight. Quietly, she wondered if he was looking at them. They seemed the kind of thing he would enjoy.
Oh, how she missed him. "Babylon!" she called into the darkness, however unlikely it was that he would hear her. Even if he did hear her, perhaps he wouldn't come. She had long since accepted that very few equines would put up with a scardy-cat who would follow them to the end of the earth for the sake of not being alone.
For a moment he thought he'd been dreaming. His eyes had fallen closed as he remained in a star-gazing stance, neck stretched to the limit and his nose to the night sky. A cool breeze blew pieces of his mane in a dance across his neck as a distant rumbling of thunder finally brought him out of his trance. It took the pink and gray stallion a moment to realize his name had actually been called and if not for the threat of a storm rolling in on his head, he would have probably dismissed it as him losing his mind...
He turned his large head to the left, then right. He couldn't really see anyone. Then again it was dark and Babylon didn't really have the eyes he used to. Following pure instinct, he slowly began to move towards the creek bed. If anyone had called his name maybe they'd be around there. He just hoped they'd call out again.
"Hello?" He called out in his monotone voice in hopes to bring another summon.
And Spit Your Pity Into My Soul.
OOC- so i kind liked this at first then i kinda rushed the end because of Ari and i am not digging the ending there ;___;
For a long while, there was nothing, and she all but gave up on anyone coming. It was a silly thought anyway; it well fitted her. She was a fool, coming out here in the dark of night, and she deserved everything she got. It was going to be a long, cold night trapped in the darkness before it lightened enough for her to move. She wasn't going to risk any other legs in this treacherous territory; she was silly, but not that silly.
Then, out of the darkness, came a faint answer, too faint to tell who it was, but definitely an answer. For a moment, she thought she was dreaming, but dismissed it - she had definitely heard a voice.
"Babylon?" she called again, hoping and praying it was him, despite the unlikeliness of it. It could have been anyone who had replied to her; and the dangerous ones always seemed to lurk in the dark.
He stood silently; a statue in the night. His flaxen mane twisting and flying this way and that across his thick neck. A tear of hope rolled down his cheek as he listened hard for her voice once again. He knew he'd heard it. It had been a long time since he had heard her sweet voice but he knew the voice of Zamora like his own. It was, after all, the sound that kept him trudging on in this life. She gave him reason. She gave him purpose.
Finally, at the last second before he just knew all had been lost, her melody sung to him once more. His ears tickled at his beckoning; a smile plastering itself to his maw as he pinpointed her echo to a single direction. Like a cat in chase Babylon was in motion. Thick, well defined limbs moved heavily as he bounded towards his love. Muscles rolled under a pink and gray dun-patterned pelt.
There was another long silence, making her heart sink with every second. The cold, dark night pressed in around her from all directions, making her shiver; no sensible being would be in this treacherous land on a night like this. She only had to hope Babylon was as ridiculously illogical as she, and that it was not some other equine coming to her now.
Soon, the hoofbeats sounded; faint, but growing ever nearer. Her breath rose in a fog in front of her as she strained her eyes, trying to make out some defining feature of the horse in front of her. Whoever it was, they were tall and thick, she could see almost immediately, and moving at a fast pace despite their bulk. Babylon was built in that manner; and who else would come running through this place to find her?
Letting out a high, piercing call, she forgot about her leg and took a step forward with the injured foot, stumbling as a sharp pain reminded her why she was still standing here. She would have to wait for him to reach her then, wait and hope he didn't do himself the same damage.

A high pitched scream resonated through the night as the bulky stallion made his few final dashes to his maiden. Zamora. He called out softly-there was no need for shouting anymore. Finally he could practically taste her scent he was so close. Her warmth spread to him as he stopped before her, stretching his nose out to calm her shaking form. Zamora... He said once more as he drew closer to her body moving to embrace her neck with his own thick one.
Zamora hadn't realised she was shaking as he approached, saying her name over and over in a voice so soft she hardly heard him. It seemed to take an age between the point where she realised it was definately him who approached and when he finally reached her, but once she was in his presence she didn't feel the cold of the night quite as much.
"Babylon..." she replied in a voice just a quiet as his own, her mind unable to conjure up any other words in that moment. There were none to describe the sheer relief and safety she felt now that she was finally in his presence again. Her face rubbed against his thick shoulder as he moved to comfort her, reassuring her that he was real and she sighed; the night was not quite so scary with someone like Babylon around.
Babylon felt soothed as she brushed her cheek across his shoulder repeatedly as he caressed her. Zamoras proximity was hypnotic to the large stallion and felt secure with her by his side. His embrace tightened around her as nightmarish thoughts etched a picture across &is future...his memories to come. A life without her...
'zamora.' He began.
'zamora. Stay with me?' He felt his eyes frantically searching as he picked his head up to look at her face.
She shook her head and neck, hard as she could, forcing muscles that had been stiff with fear for hours now to relax, awaking herself. There was nothing to fear now, not when there were two of them; not that she was of much help with an injured leg.
"Zamora. Stay with me?"
She huffed softly through her lips at his question, lifting her head to breathe in the fresh night air before responding. "Of course," she replied, voice still soft as the breeze that stirred the night around them. She felt decidedly calmer now, able to for once enjoy the peace of nighttime. The unending blackness still unnerved her, an inability to function properly without sight still a weakness, but for now her eyes were fixed on Babylon, not the darkness. She would not let them stray. She would not let herself fear, not when he was here.
"What do we do now?" she asked quietly, almost afraid to raise her voice and disturb the peace.
