call me :: Thunder
I've lived :: 10 years
isn't it obvious :: stallion
my bloodlines :: Percheron
I'm quite tall :: 17.2 hh
my eyes :: dark brown
painted in :: black with a star-stripe
matching banners :: black
my allies are :: angelic
a raven accompanies me :: Lightning is Thunders female raven companion who is quite a few years younger than her equine friend. The bird is quite different from him, with a rather energetic and childish personality. Unlike her companion, Lightning's name fits her really well, and she is practically as fast as lightning - or well, she likes to think so.
who I am :: Thunder might come across as an imposing figure considering his massive size. Along with that, you'd think he'd resemble his name Thunder well also. That however, is not the case. This stallion is kind as any angelic should be, and he has a big heart. Those who are kind and respect him receive the same back. He is very friendly, however he does tend to be on the quiet side when meeting new faces.
He tends to be a thinker, and is always reasoning out things. Considering that, Thunder is also one that plays with strategy. Anything he takes on is taken with caution and much though, because he absolutely hates mistakes and failure. In fact, Thunder fears anything bad. He has lived through much misfortune already, and the stallion doesn't want bad things to happen again.
Though peace is what this stallion desires, he now accepts that not everyone has that same ideal. If he has to fight for what is right in any way, he will. Still, the Percheron wouldn't take the life of anyone unless he had a very good reason to do so. Instead of fighting, Thunder prefers to talk things out, because he considers that the best way to settle things.
the past :: Thunder was born into a herd outside of Ravenhaught that prioritized law and order - and in rather strict ways. Their ideals were to conquer and expand, and to make a name for themselves. To them, it was important to have a good fighting force. Thus, the herd was military-oriented. Thunder's father happened to be one of the highly ranked generals, while his mother was a simple commoner with only the duty to care for the injured. His father had a soft spot for the mare despite being rather emotionless otherwise. His father's mind was full of his herd's ideals, and the stallion desired his son to walk in his hoofprints. That however, didn't go as planned by the stallion.
Though Thunder had was in good health and had the strength to become a great asset for his herd, the stallion's personality didn't match up with his fathers desires. No, he seemed to of taken on a personality much similar to his mother's. Thunder preferred to reason and talk things out rather than manipulate and fight. He never had the same desires his herd did. No, Thunder wanted peace, not war. Thus, his sire began to hate the colt, however his mother nurtured the colt. She was pretty much the only one to agree with him.
Despite his disagreeing nature with his herd, Thunder tried his best to please his father once he reached the age of two. At that time, he was finally old enough to begin to understand more. So, he thought that maybe if he climbed in his herd's rankings, he could somehow work at changing them for the better. His father was glad to see the colts change, however the stallion never knew his son's real goals. A few years continued as the Percheron rose within his herd, until one day changed everything.
It was at a time when Thunder's herd was at war with another that his life came crashing down, so-to-speak. There was a mare called Starlight from the rivaling herd however, who wished for the same peace he wanted. So they stayed in touch, meeting in secret to plot out how they might be able to change their herds' brutal ways. Along with that, the two began to fall in love, and Thunder was then even more determined to resolve their herds' conflict between eachother. One day however, the two were caught seen together by a few guards and general of Thunder's herd. They attempted to take Starlight away, but the Percheron wouldn't allow such a thing. So he fought off the guards, and the general. Not killing them, but injuring them enough to escape.
Within time though, his whole herd would know what happened. Thus, Thunder proposed the idea of leaving the lands they called home. Starlight didn't want to abandon their dream of peace there however, so she suggested they finally speak out. She really believed if they made a good speech, that everyone would be moved to realize everything. That plan didn't succeed, sadly. It only ended with Thunders beloved killed, and with the stallion fleeing for his life. Young and foolish, was that all they were? Sadness filled the stallion after that day, as he regretted that choice so much. He almost thought it would've been better to be put to death as he would've been if he had stayed. Thunder continued wandering though, and he eventually found himself in the lands of Ravenhaught. Here, was a new life possible though?
The stallion remained depressed even after he found Ravenhaught, which was about six months after he fled his homeland. Soon after his arrival to the new land, the stallion met Lightning. The bird was lively and spirited, and she lifted Thunder's spirits a bit. The two then became companions, and Lightning continued her efforts in attempt to help her friend. He never revealed his past to her, however he soon managed to get past it all. Yes, as Lightning said, he should think of the future now, and make a life here for himself.
